  • Mental Health and substance abuse problems affect more children and adolescents today than ever before. Yet, asking for help is often one of life's most difficult tasks. That's why Prestera and 91Ó°Ôº have partnered together to make services available at every school.  

    School-based therapists provide services to students who need assistance with school by providing support with grades, behavior, or emotional needs. These services may include therapy, counseling, tutoring, and crisis management.

    Prestera is focused on education, treatment, and supportive interventions.

Valley Health

  • Students in Cabell County can see a health practitioner or a dentist without ever leaving the school grounds thanks to an important partnership between 91Ó°Ôº and Valley Health.

    Valley Health operates School-Based Health Centers at Southside Elementary/91Ó°Ôº Middle School, 91Ó°Ôº High School and Cabell Midland High School.

    Services offered to all Cabell County students, faculty and staff:

    • Treatment of illnesses
    • Well-child exams
    • Sports physicals
    • Dental exams 
    • Immunizations
    • Mental health counseling
    • Nutrition counseling
    • Lab testing
    • Management of chronic conditions (i.e. asthma, etc.)
    • Prescriptions

    The mission of the centers is to improve the physical well-being and academic achievement of students by providing high quality, accessible health care in a convenient location to help them stay healthy and stay in school.

    The care provided at the School-Based Health Centers is:

    • Affordable
    • Accessible to all students, faculty and staff
    • Convenient for parents and students as it decreases time away from work and school for appointments

    Valley Health accepts all major insurance plans.

    If students already have regular physicians, Valley Health can complement those services by offering immediate care for illnesses, helping students recover quickly and improving their attendance.

    To receive services from Valley Health, students must have a Valley Health parental consent on file each school year.
