A new gym floor was installed during the summer of 2021 at Barboursville Middle School, replacing a wooden gym floor that has been a part of our community for decades.  The legacy of the old wooden gym floor stretches back years, as multiple generations of students passed through Barboursville High School and, later, Barboursville Middle.   Through the years the gym hosted a number of local and regional championship teams.  This gym also hosted the middle school players who would eventually go on to be a part of the 2002 Cabell Midland State Championship basketball team.

You can be a part of this legacy and support future champions by joining our Piece of the Plank initiative.  Participants will receive a personalized commemorative wooden plank featuring reclaimed wood from the gym floor and an engraved metal plate.  A matching commemorative plank will be placed in a display at the school, recognizing your contribution to continuing this legacy.  Planks can be purchased for yourself, given as a gift, or placed in honor or memory of someone.
