Cabell Midland AFJROTC Receives Program Extension

Cabell Midland AFJROTC Receives Program Extension
The CMHS AFJROTC has a long, proud history of student achievement that includes students graduating to become private pilots, receiving service academy appointments and full ROTC scholarships, a Yeager Scholar, and multiple local and national awards for leadership, drones, academics, and more. Due to struggles meeting the 100-student enrollment goal, the program was slated to be closed at the end of this school year. Thanks to the diligent efforts of Maj. Luke, CMHS and Central Office administration, and help from Senator Shelly Moore Capito and Congresswoman Carol Miller, the Air Force offered the program an extension that allows them an additional year and support to help reach the enrollment goal for the 2024-2025 school year.
We are grateful to Senator Capito and Congresswoman Miller for reaching out on behalf of our students, and thankful more students at CMHS will have the opportunity to benefit from the wonderful leadership development offered by the AFJROTC program.
Cody Sanders representing Congresswoman Miller’s office presented a flag that was flown over the capitol to Maj. Luke and Cabell Midland High School. This special recognition symbolizes the strong support and appreciation from Congresswoman Miller for the dedication and achievements of the CMHS AFJROTC program.
